CANAL
5K RUN & WALK . . . The Parkinson
Canal 5K Run & Walk is held each year to raise awareness of
and provide funds for both national and local efforts to support
those with Parkinson's disease and ultimately to find a cure. The
annual Parkinson Canal 5K Run & Walk also fosters volunteerism
in service to people afflicted with Parkinson's disease, their families.
care givers, care partners and friends.
The 12th Annual Parkinson Canal Run &
Walk will be held on Sunday,
April 18, 2010 at the Meridian Centre Park, Brighton NY.

PARKINSON
DISEASE SYMPOSIUM . . ."Hope for Tomorrow - Living
for Today" the 2010, 21st annual Parkinson Disease
Symposium, sponsored by Parkinson Support Group of Upstate
New York in partnership with the University of Rochester MIND Unit,
Department of Neurology,and sponsored by Teva Neuroscience wil be
held on Saturday, September 25, 2010 at the Double Tree Inn, 1111
Jefferson Road, Henrietta (corner of Jeffreson Rd
& East Henrietta Rd - former Holiday Inn).
There is no charge for the day long program
(including lunch) but advance registration is required. Register

THE PARKINSON
CAFE. . . created to supplement PSGUNY’s regularily
scheduled monthly support group meetings. The Cafe is designed
to provide additional social, cultural and intellectual interaction
for people with Parkinson’s disease during the fall and
winter ... when people tend to feel shut-in or isolated.
People with Parkinson’s disease who
can ambulate independently may come alone; those needing assistance
must be accompanied by a care partner or aid. Care partners are
welcome to attend.

ANNUAL SUPPORT
GROUP PICNIC - - -Our 2009 annual PSGUNY picnic is scheduled
for Saturday, July 25 from 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM at the Brighton Town
Park (indoor lodge) 777 Westfall Road. PSGUNY will provide hot dogs
& hamburgers - picnickers are asked to supply the veggies, salad
& dessert to share. We promise you good food, fun games, pleasant
music and unmatched fellowship. Reservations are encouraged by calling
234-5355 or sending an e-mail to reservations@psguny.org.
There is no cost to attend and donations are always welcome.

HEALTH
FAIR . . . PSGUNY participates in
the annual Family Health Fair at the Dome Arena on the Monroe County
Fair Grounds, The PSGUNY booth provides literature and information
about PD and the local support group meetings and services..
The 2009 Family Health Fair is scheduled for October 15th
- 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
