Remember - you are not alone

Much of your life has changed, or will change, with the addition of Parkinson's Disease in your life. You are a now vital member of a healthcare team. You have become a care giver or care partner.

Care giving is never predictable. It requires great flexibility. The only way you can continue to be a care giver is by taking care of yourself. And you must take care of yourself first before you can successfully take care of anyone else. So don't be shy, timid or embarrassed to ask for support and help. Seek support from family, friends, clergy and other care givers or a local support group.

You are invited and encouraged to attend any of the Parkinson Support Group of Upstate New York's group meetings, especially our Care Giver Support Group meeting on the 2nd Saturday of the month. This Group will be changing its meeting location.Phone 234-5355 for information and location of future meetings. Click here for complete support group meeting schedule.
